The Art of Revenge:
Japanese Cinema Film Series

This poster was created for a proposed Japanese film festival in California. Revenge is a popular theme in Japanese cinema, and I attempted to create a design that embodied this theme. I sought to emphasize vertical lines to reflect the traditional way in which Japanese characters are written. I also felt that this resembled the downward swing of a katana, a fitting similarity given the content of many of the films.
